It is one of the specialized departments in the hospital that provides intensive medical care services to patients. The intensive care unit is also known as ICT and CC. Trained medical staff such as intensive care physicians and intensive care nurses work in this department. Patients are usually admitted to the intensive care unit with life-threatening illnesses and conditions such as acute respiratory distress syndrome and infectious shock, and after major and high-risk surgeries. In this ward, patients are monitored momentarily and around the clock.
